Frequently Asked Questions

Take a look at some these frequently asked questions, and feel free to contact us with any additional questions you might have (or if you just want to count sheep with someone).

How firm is the Tuck mattress?

While each mattress configuration is based on the results of our Sleep Test, the range of firmness is roughly 5-7 on the firmness scale. While the firmness will differ somewhat, our mattress is engineered to fall within a tight range.

How long should the Tuck mattress last?

Our mattress comes with an 11 year, one month, and one day warranty. We pride ourselves in the workmanship in each of our mattresses and use only the finest components. Our research shows that our hybrid mattress, which utilizes both coils and memory foam, will last 28% longer than a mattress made solely out of foam; this means that you can look forward to thousands of great nights of sleep in your future.

When do I flip my Tuck mattress?

Not so fast, my friend. There is no need to ever flip a Tuck mattress! The way this mattress is built, with support layers at the bottom and comfort layers at the top, means that you never have to manhandle your mattress. If it were flipped, everything would be in reverse, which could result in a sore back for you or your Tuck buddy.

How much is the Tuck mattress?

Twin – $600
Twin XL – $725
Full – $850
Queen – $990
King – $1,200
California King – $1,200

The dual comfort option is at no additional charge for sizes queen and up.

What sizes are the Tuck mattress offered in?

Twin – 39” x 75”
Twin XL – 39” x 80”
Full – 54” x 75”
Queen – 60” x 80”
King – 76” x 80”
California King – 72” x 84”

Each mattress is 11” in height

What goes into each Tuck mattress?

Each mattress is customized to the sleep preferences of an individual based on their answers to  our Sleep Test, but here is a sampling of components that are included in our mattress:
– Copper Infused Gel Memory Foam
– Continuous Process Latex
– Micro Coils
– Pocketed Coil Support Core
– Polyfoam(s)

When should I expect my Tuck mattress at my doorstep?

Once you’ve placed your order, your Tuck will begin customization within the next business day. It takes 5-7 days to properly set. The dual comfort option will take an additional 2 days. From there it will be ready to roll and picked up via UPS. Your Tuck’s journey should take 2-5 business days before arriving to its new home.

What does IFD stand for, and what does it mean?

The acronym ‘IFD’ stand for Indention Force Deflection.  It measures how firm or soft the surface of a piece of foam feels, and expresses comfort level as a number.

What is off-gassing?

This refers to the odor that can come from a mattress shortly after it is unpackaged due to its chemical composition. Off-gassing is commonly associated with memory foams; however, our hybrid bed is less than 50% memory foam and only uses CertiPUR-US foams, which do not contain any harmful chemicals. So rest easy that any slight smell will go away quickly.

Is there a weight limit on a Tuck mattress?

We are confident that our hybrid mattress can handle and support far more weight than its foam mattress counterparts. Our recycled steel coil support core system is proven to absorb and support more weight than a foam mattress alone. Therefore, customizing your mattress through our Sleep Test will ensure that you will receive the best mattress for you, regardless of your weight.

How is my Tuck mattress customized?

We ask each and every one of our customers to go through our two minute Sleep Test so that we can understand more about both their body makeup and their sleep preferences. The answers provided in this test give us important data, which we plug in to our algorithm to customize a bed to meet your exact needs.

Will my Tuck mattress need to be broken in?

Would you like to be compressed down to a thickness of 1” and roll-packed into a box and shipped? While your mattress will recover fully in just a few hours, it is important to understand that your body and the mattress will take some time to adjust to each other. Our testing has shown that after sleeping on your mattress for just 7 nights, it should be fully broken in and give the wonderful feeling that it will continue to have for years to come. Think of breaking in your new mattress like a new pair of shoes. It’s love at first sight, but then reality hits. They are a little stiff, your feet might get a little sore, and you’re a little discouraged. Then a few days, maybe weeks later you realize they are just what you needed and wanted. That’s perfectly normal. Your new mattress is going to feel different than your old one. Which is a good thing. You could be a bit sore at first but that means your body is changing and adapting to your Tuck. Your muscles are adjusting to higher quality components and support than old faithful. If you indeed decide that you and Tuck aren’t meant to be then we ask that you give yourself 30 nights to ensure that your body has adjusted to your new mattress.

Will sales tax be added to my Tuck mattress?

At the present time, only orders coming from the state of Mississippi and Washington will be charged sales tax.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and financing through Blispay.

Are there financing options available?

Yes. We offer a full financing option through our partners at Blispay. Simply check Blispay as your method of payment at checkout and you will be taken through their system.

Will a box spring support my Tuck mattress?

Absolutely! A box spring will work perfectly with this mattress.

What other types of foundations work?

Here at Tuck, we have a super catchy slogan: ‘If it sits, it fits’. You can place these mattresses on an adjustable base, a box spring, a solid platform, a metal grid, a slatted base, or even on the floor. No matter where you stick your mattress, you’ll still have a great night of sleep.

Can I place my Tuck mattress on an adjustable base?

No doubt about it! Our hybrid mattress greatly outperforms its foam counterparts on an adjustable base. Our fabric-encased support core coils are able to move in any direction necessary and are a great fit for an adjustable base.

Wait, how is a Tuck mattress stuffed in a box and shipped to me?

That is a great question (and one that we still sometimes think about ourselves). Each mattress is sent through a machine that compresses it from 11” all the way down to 1”, with the coils compressing directly on top of each other to maintain their integrity. From there, the mattress is heat sealed, folded in half, rolled, wrapped in plastic, put into our box, and ready to be shipped via UPS.

What is the size of the box my Tuck mattress will arrive in?

The mattress will arrive on your doorstep in a box with dimensions of 17” x 17” x 45”. The box even comes with handles to help you easily bring your mattress into its new home.

How much does each Tuck mattress weigh?

Since each mattress is customized to the sleep preferences of the user, the weight varies. However, your mattress should fall into one of these ranges:

Twin – 75 – 85 lbs
Twin XL – 85 – 95 lbs
Full – 100 – 110 lbs
Queen – 115 – 125 lbs
King – 135 – 145 lbs
California King – 135 – 145 lbs

Can I get more info on the Tuck Sleep Trial?

Absolutely! We respect that it might feel somewhat daunting to order a product like a mattress online (you are spending about a third of your life on the thing, after all). To ease this concern we offer a sleep trial of 145 days, 12 hours, and 53 seconds. During this period of time, if you feel like the mattress isn’t right for you, we will arrange to have it picked up and donated to a local charity. At that point, you will receive a full refund of your purchase.

I know it is crazy, but how would I return my Tuck mattress?

We do ask that you allow your body 30 days to adjust to your new mattress. After that point, if you would like to return the mattress, we will work together to find him/her/it a new home. Reach out to us at contact@trytuck.com or at (855) 998-0907 and we will provide you with a return authorization number.  If you find yourself stumped on where to donate, just let us know and we will help you find the best option! If we can’t find a donation location together, we will work on scheduling a pick up time with a third party service free of charge, where it will be responsibly recycled.

Once you have donated your mattress to a local charity or non-profit, send us a photographed or scanned copy of your donation receipt via email and we will process your refund.

When will I receive my refund?

A refund to your method of payment will take place within five days of your mattress being picked up.

When a Tuck mattress is returned, where does it go?

We will do everything in our power to work with local charities to pick up the mattress for donation. However, due to federal laws, sometimes a mattress cannot be donated. In this case, it will be responsibly recycled.

What if I need a bigger Tuck mattress?

If you are looking to upgrade your mattress, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We can perform an exchange within the sleep trial period.

My Tuck mattress arrived today, now what?

Before touching the box, we suggest that you try out your best ‘happy dance’. Once you’ve finished celebrating, you should take the box into the room where your new mattress will be located. At this point, open the top of the box. Inside, you will find some easy-to-follow instructions taped to the side of the rolled mattress to guide you through the remainder of the process.

How do I know if my Tuck mattress is safe?

Each of the variations of our mattresses have been put through rigorous tests (standards 1632 and 1633) mandated by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission to ensure that the mattress is not flammable in your home. All of our foams are certified by the CertiPUR-US program, ensuring that there are no harmful chemicals in your mattress.

What is the warranty on my Tuck mattress?

Your mattress is covered under our 11 year, one month, and one day limited warranty. You can read the full warranty details here.

The Tuck Mattress is incredible, if I tell my buddies, what is in it for me?

Great question! If you refer a friend who purchases a Tuck mattress, not only will they receive $75 off of their mattress, you will receive a $75 Amazon gift card.  Your referral code can be found on your order receipt.

How do I protect the beautiful cover on my Tuck mattress?

That cover is beautiful, isn’t it? Without question, we suggest placing a mattress protector on top of your mattress to protect the cover from a multitude of things. You can also use a damp cloth to blot out anything that might get onto the cover. While the cover is washable, we strongly discourage anyone from removing it. It has been tailored to perfectly fit over the mattress components, and (if we’re being honest) it’s not very easy to get back on. The last thing we would want is for the mattress cover to shrink during the cleaning process and not fit back on properly. For these reasons, it is in everyone’s best interest to utilize a mattress protector.
